🚨 LIVERPOOL'S DEFENSE IS A QUESTION MARK, BUT WIRTZ AND ISAK ARE COOKING

📝 THE FULL PICTURE:
Iraola's got two preseason games left before Liverpool opens at Newcastle, and he still doesn't know who's lining up next to Virgil van Dijk. Van Dijk got his first runout against Monaco after that long post-World Cup break, starting alongside 18-year-old Ifeanyi Ndukwe, a serious talent but one who'll need a loan because of work permit issues. By the end, Luke Chambers and Wataru Endo were the center-backs. That says everything. Ronald Araujo's medical is done, his loan from Barcelona with a £47.2m option is nearly sealed. Jeremy Jacquet's still not fully training after shoulder and knee issues, but Iraola thinks he might see action against Como. Meanwhile, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, the £225m duo, looked dangerous. Isak bagged the opener with a sweet right-footer, Wirtz was the best player on the pitch, and they even combined for what might've been a second goal. Isak wasn't even sure who scored it.
💭 MY TAKE:
Look, preseason results don't matter, but the center-back situation is legit wild. You've got a teenager, a right-back, and a defensive mid all playing CB in one match. Araujo can't get here soon enough. On the flip side, Wirtz and Isak are already building that telepathy, and that's scary for the rest of the league. If Liverpool's defense holds up even a little, they're going to outscore everybody. But that "if" is doing a lot of heavy lifting right now, dude.
