π¨ CHELSEA EYEING JOHN STONES ON A FREE - ANOTHER DEFENSIVE SHAKEUP?
22 July 2026, 05:26
π THE FULL PICTURE:
Chelsea are looking to bring in former Manchester City defender John Stones on a free transfer after his contract ran out at the end of June. The 32-year-old England international, with 295 appearances for City, is also being pursued by Inter Milan. But the Blues aren't stopping there - they're in talks to sign Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix and are checking out Como's Jacobo Ramon too. To make room, Chelsea are shopping defenders: Trevoh Chalobah is talking to Como, and Axel Disasi plus Benoit Badiashile are available for sale. Meanwhile, they already dropped Β£117m on England midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa and are discussing a loan move for Alejandro Garnacho heading the other way.
π MY TAKE:
Chelsea's transfer strategy is wild, dude. Picking up Stones on a free is smart, but they're basically running a revolving door in defense. Six Premier League titles with City? Yeah, he's got pedigree. But at 32 and after injuries, is he the long-term fix? Either way, the Blues are going all-in - sell half the backline, bring in fresh faces. Letβs see if it works this time.
